They’ve always been shown as having a tight-knit bond, what with Black Widow being the only one who knew about Hawkeye’s secret family (who was revealed in Avengers: Age of Ultron).
But in the newly released International trailer for Captain America: Civil War, Scarlett Johansson’s former spy can be seen sparring with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.
The 31-year-old is pictured on the ground, fighting to wrestle the 45-year-old’s bow out of his hands as she asks: ‘We’re still friends, right?’

Friends becoming enemies: In the newly-released International trailer for Captain America: Civil War, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and longtime friend Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) face off
‘Depends on how hard you hit me’ The former spy can be seen wrestling from under Hawkeye’s bow as she asks him: ‘We’re still friends, right?’
Hawkeye seems to show off a bit of a smile as he coyly responds to Black Widow: ‘Depends on how hard you hit me.’
The international trailer is mostly a collection of previously-seen footage from the highly anticipated upcoming film, but also features a new scene between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
The two have split The Avengers in two dependent on their feelings regarding government regulation.
Choosing sides: The trailer seems to reveal that Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) support Captain America (center)
After viewing clips of destruction they had caused trying to save the day in the previous films, Tony Stark (Iron Man, Robert) relented that the heroes needed to be regulated for everyone’s safety.
However, Captain stood firm in his belief that they be able to step in whenever necessary, noting: ‘If I see a situation pointed south I can’t ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could.’
The rest of the group then split up to support whichever side they more closely aligned with, leaving Black Widow and Hawkeye on opposite teams.
We’re with Tony: On the other side it looks like Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Widow, The Vision (Paul Bettany, not pictured), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland, not pictured) support Iron Man
Heartbreaking: In another new scene from the International trailer, Captain America seems to beg Iron Man as he says: ‘He’s my friend,’ to which the hero dejectedly replies: ‘So was I’

Not seeing eye to eye: The duo fight over whether or not restrictions should be put on The Avengers following all of the damage that the team had done in the past films
‘So was I,’ the mogul responds dejectedly, with a heartbreaking look on his face, before the former friends are shown beating each other.
Speaking of the upcoming, action-packed sequel, Scarlett told Collider that unlike past films, it was much more of a setup for Avengers 3 and 4.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier ‘didn’t feel like necessarily it was part of The Avengers’ or ‘like it was leading you into’ The Avengers: Age of Ultron she had said.
Clash of the titans: Iron Man and Captain America will face off in the highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War, due in theaters May 6
And Jeremy agreed with her remarks, commenting to Screen Rant that ‘where we left off in Ultron is definitely picked up in Cap 3 here, pretty smoothly I think.’
Captain America: Civil War also starring Marisa Tomei, Emily VanCamp, and Martin Freeman – hits theaters May 6.
