Shares of Credit Suisse were down 6 percent on Wednesday with traders citing the chief financial officer’s cancellation of a presentation at a banking conference, Reuters reported.

Shares of Deutsche Boerse were trading 0.7 percent higher on Wednesday after it announced a merger with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSE), with the combined group expected to maintain its headquarters in London and Frankfurt. Shares of LSE initially rose but fell 0.4 percent afterwards.

Shares of Volkswagen were up 1.46 percent despite a U.S. law firm saying that it will pursue claims of European customers harmed by the VW emissions scandal, adding to the automaker’s legal challenges, Reuters reported.

Oil prices rose on Wednesday on news that OPEC and non-OPEC producers are to hold a meeting in the Qatari capital Doha on April 17, the Qatari oil ministry said, Reuters reported on Wednesday. Brent crude for May delivery was trading at $39.29 a barrel, up 55 cents in the trading session, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was up 70 cents at $37.03.
