Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t always the picture of normalcy, whether we’re talking about her $8,045/night Airbnb or her thoughts on vaginal steaming, but perhaps she’s ever so slightly more in touch when it comes to her travel regimen.

In a recent Q&A with the New York Times, the Goop entrepreneur and perpetual jet-setter discussed her tips and habits for life on-the-go. Much to our surprise, the usual talk of green juice, crazy detox diets and impossibly clean living was almost entirely absent. In its place, a few pleasantly approachable travel tips.

For example, Paltrow’s regular routine for traveling by plane:

I drink tons of water, and I have a vitamin sachet that I put in it. Also, I moisturize my skin and put on a mask. I try not to eat rubbish either. I’ll pack salad and fruit. If I’m going on an overnight flight, I’ll drink whiskey or a glass of wine and then go to sleep, but on day flights, I try not to drink. When I land, I try to find a sauna to sit in for 20 minutes to help me sweat out all the germs from the plane.

All contagion aside… Going to hit it with heat #fluday5 #infraredsauna #clearlightsauna #iwilltryanythingatthispoint

Sure, her goop by Juice Beauty moisturizer probably cost around $100 and a nice, hot steam isn’t exactly the first thing most people get to do the moment they step off their flight, but the increased hydration and healthy snacks are travel practices we’re all well accustomed to. And the whiskey/wine—obviously.

And what about the actress’s eating and exercise habits? When asked whether she works out while traveling, Paltrow responded:

Recently, no. If I’m in Paris, I’d much rather take a walk and discover something amazing than be stuck on a treadmill at my hotel.

Which is all the more shocking when you consider her answer about meals and indulging:

When I’m traveling, I would rather eat what I want and come home and tighten it up. I don’t want to be in Paris and not have a croissant or goose fat potatoes. I love pasta in Italy, bread and cheese in Spain and wine everywhere. You don’t have to indulge all day, every day, but I think it’s important to your psyche to have flexibility and genuinely enjoy the food wherever you are.

Plus, Paltrow is all about the carry-on. No oversized, overpacked checked bag for this luxury lifestyle empress—just the essentials.

We never thought we’d say this, but Gwyneth Paltrow is actually, really, kind of just like us. Kind of.

Yeah baby! 🌪✌🏼️#tgif
