Valerie Grubb (right) grew up in Mooresville where her mother Dorothy Grubb (middle), currently lives. Valerie’s father was a pilot, so you could say traveling is in her blood. Here, Dorothy and Valerie are in Alaska.
Here, the mother-daughter duo are in Battambang, Cambodia.
They enjoyed traveling all over as a family until Valerie’s father passed away, and the pair continued after his death. In this photo, Valerie and Dorothy are riding an elephant in Thailand.
They’re visiting with some locals in Australia.
Her mother — now 86 years old — uses a cane and sometimes a wheelchair to get around, but they don’t let her age and health keep them from traveling the world to places like China.
A little closer, but no less adventurous, the two are in Yellowstone National Park.
Together, the mom-daughter duo has logged more than 300,000 miles all across the globe. In this photo, they’re in Malaysia.
Valerie now blogs for Huffington Post. After looking online for resources for traveling with aging parents realized there simply wasn’t many. Her mother is petting a tiger in Australia.
Valerie wrote a book with tips, lists and tricks to help other people.
