During a Monday appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the host taught presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton a very important lesson: how “to eat cheesecake without looking silly.”
“It’s awkward eating in front of the press … they could get a funny shot. You know, something could drop out of your mouth. You could smear your face,” Clinton, 68, said as the two sat in New York’s famed Carnegie Deli.
Colbert, 51, launched into the lesson.
“First of all, you want to use a fork … then you want to take off just a little bit off the top right here,” he said, using a fork to skim off a piece of the cheesecake.
“And then just eat as much as you want,” he continued, using his hand to shove the remaining slice of cheesecake in his mouth.
“This is humanizing,” he promised Clinton. He then suggested offering the tiny sliver of cheesecake left on the fork to the press.
The presidential hopeful laughed along with the rest of the audience and declared, “I clearly have to do that.”
It seems Clinton’s lesson on cheesecake didn’t come for free, though – Colbert skipped out on paying even after he and Clinton agreed to split the bill.
