‘Titanfall 2’ Teaser Trailer Brings A Sword To A Mech Fight – Tech Times

The fact that Titanfall 2 exists has been one of the worst kept secrets in gaming, but now it looks like EA and developer Respawn Entertainment are ready to officially start talking about what’s next for their mech focused FPS franchise.

A new teaser trailer for the game gives fans a hint of what’s to come. A lone drop pod can be seen landing in a dense forest, as a presumably hostile Titan approaches. The name on the pod is James MacAllan, the “main character” from the original Titanfall who is supposedly dead.

A soldier narrates the trailer, speaking on how being a hero means one must be willing to die for what they believe in. In that case, the soldier says, perhaps don’t try so hard to be one, as you’ll live longer.

The Titan then unsheathes what appears to be a massive sword and stabs it into the ground before the trailer cuts to the words “Worldwide Reveal June 12”.

Aside from the fact that the game will be arriving on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 this time around, this trailer doesn’t give much to go on. The Titan shown looks to be different from the ones fans used in the first installment of the franchise, and the swords are definitely new. It’s hard to say if the game is running on a new engine or not, but judging from the trailer we’re going to take a guess and say that it is.

The major question still remaining is whether or not Titanfall 2 will have a traditional single-player campaign. The first game was famous (or perhaps infamous) for having a “multiplayer story mode”, which worked about as well as it sounds. Rumors say Titanfall 2 will go back to the action set-piece driven story mode the former Call of Duty developers are known for, but it remains to be see if those rumors are true. Looks like we’ll know more on June 12. Unsurprisingly, June 12 is the day EA is kicking off their E3 event, so expect all the details, including a possible release date, to come during the show.
