(Feb. 25, 2016) — After a jolt of winter weather, several Indiana counties have some form of travel advisory.

As of early Thursday morning, eight counties to the north and northwest were under red travel warnings, which means travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. Drivers should stay home and follow all emergency measures.

A dozen counties have orange travel watches. Only essential travel (work commute, emergency travel, etc.) is recommended when a watch is in effect.

Ten counties have yellow travel advisories, the lowest level of local traffic alerts. They mean drivers could encounter difficult road conditions that could restrict routine travel. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when an advisory is in place.
