_ JANE THE VIRGIN. 9 p.m. Monday, CW57.

It’s Mother’s Day on the show that, its original premise aside, is one of the most realistic on television about what motherhood actually entails.

_ HOUDINI & DOYLE. 9 p.m. Monday, Fox29.

Even Harry Houdini (Michael Weston, House) can’t escape TV’s demand for amateur detectives in this period procedural that celebrates the magician’s friendship with Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle (Stephen Mangan, Episodes) X-Files-style.

Singer-songwriter Janis Joplin, who died in 1970 at 27, is profiled.

_ PERSON OF INTEREST. 10 p.m. Tuesday, CBS3.

Michael Emerson and Jim Caviezel (pictured) return as the fifth, and final, season premieres. Starting next week, episodes will air at 10 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.

_ THE GOLDBERGS. 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, 6ABC.

In “Smothers’s Day,” Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) gets some of those homemade coupons we all may have tried to get away with giving our mothers at some point.

_ THE AMERICANS. 10 p.m. Wednesday, FX.

Remember that time David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear? So do the writers of The Americans. This week, they make one of my favorite characters reappear. And that’s the least of the surprises.

_ GRACE AND FRANKIE. Friday, Netflix.

Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin return as women whose exes (Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) left them for each other. As the men’s wedding nears, a crisis occurs.
