Snow, sleet and rain showers are all set to hit Britain in the coming days as the wintry weather continues.

The Thames even burst its banks yesterday as heavy rain hit the UK, and there are still 16 flood alerts put in place on the river by the Environment Agency.

The Met Office has issued are severe weather warnings in place for the north east of England and parts of Scotland for snow and ice, with drivers advised to take care.

Tonight southern and central areas of England, along with Wales, will have a cloudy night with outbreaks of rain, these heaviest in the west.
